October 1, 1933 – February 24, 2010
God called Rosario Bossio home suddenly on February 24, 2010. He will be reunited in heaven with his loving wife, Ortenzia, who predeceased him on April 12, 2008.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Mike and Augie (Suzanne) together with four grandchildren; Tenzi and Ross; Angela and Lisa. He is also survived by one sister in Italy as well as many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada.
Rosario was born on October 1, 1933 in Lago Cosenza, Italy. He was married in 1953; and then in 1966 he immigrated to Kamloops with his family. Rosario worked for Floritto Egg Farms, then at Balco Forest Products and finally, the last 20 years of his career, at Weyerhaueser Sawmill. During his retirement he cared for his ailing wife while still growing a large garden and making wine and sausages every fall. Rosario was happiest sitting at his kitchen table with family and friends sharing stories, food and wine. He always shared the bounty of his garden with everyone. He spent the last two years at Pine Grove Care Centre and his family is grateful for the care and support that he received from the staff of Pine Grove. Thank you to all, and thanks to Dr. Howie for his compassionate care.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2010 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, BC.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, March 1, 2010 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Reverend Father Peter Hoan Nguyen, Celebrant. Following the service, Rosario will be interred to rest at the Evergreen Mausoleum in Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosario’s memory to the charity of your choice.
