Giovanni "John" Di Mambro left us unexpectedly March 14, 2010. He goes to join the love of his life, Dina, his wife of 53 years.
Born in Vallemaio, Italy, in 1923, John immigrated to Canada in 1959 to join his brother Francesco. He left everything behind, including a wife and three young children, to work for a new and better life. After two years of hard work and saving he was able to send for his family, reuniting with them in 1961 and settling in Louis Creek BC. In 1971 John moved to Kamloops, joining the staff of School District 73, where he worked until retiring 17 years later. He was a dedicated protector of his family and a guiding force for us all.
John leaves behind a large and loving family, including daughters Anna (his angel), Lucia (Leo); son Antonio (Liz); grandchildren Shawn, Joanna (Rick), Michael (Erin), Stephanie (Randy), Seana, Jennifer (Steve), Rogan, Landon, and Tanner; great-grandchildren Liam, Alessandra, and Mason; sister-in-law Caterina; niece Maria (Richard); nephew Nick (Pam) and their families.
He is predeceased by his parents Lorenzo and Maria; wife Dina; son Aldino; brothers Dominico and Francesco; and son-in-law Lajos "Louis".

Prayers will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Rd.
Father Peter Hoan Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00am on Monday, March 22, 2010 at our Lady of Perpetual Help. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
We will miss you forever and take our strength from knowing you always protected us, and we know you always will.
