Ray George Taylor 1948 - 2010

 

Ray George Taylor of Logan Lake, B.C. passed away on March 21, 2010 at the age of 61 years, after a valiant battle with cancer.  Ray is survived by his best friend and loving wife Linda.

 

Ray’s children are; Tanya (Todd) Cantlon, of Fort St. John, B.C., James Taylor of Dawson Creek, B.C., Jesse, Elijah, Rebecca and Zackary Taylor all of Logan Lake, B.C.  Ray’s Grandchildren are; Tori & Tristan Cantlon, Drake and Camryn Taylor.

 

Ray is also survived by his siblings, Sharon (Alfred) Kloeck, Gordon Taylor, Evelyn (Pat) Yuill & Michael (Ana) Taylor.  He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond & Florence (Duckworth) Taylor, and his brothers, Dennis & James (Jimmy) Taylor, a sister-in-law Terri Taylor and his grandson Garrett Cantlon.

 

Ray will be missed by his in-laws; Duane & Karlee Howard, Helen Hird, John (Sylvia) Howard, Suzanne (Les) Thiel, Dan (Marla) Howard & Laura Howard as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

 

Ray was born in Edmonton, Alberta on December 19, 1948, and grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.  He worked at Whitehorse Copper where he earned his Journeyman Millwright ticket.  Ray moved to Logan Lake and worked at Highmont Mining Corp. where he met Linda who also worked in the Mill there.  They married in 1984 and started their life of adventure and travel.  Both Ray & Linda worked at Highland Valley Copper when they were involved in a serious motorcycle accident while holidaying in New Zealand.  They recovered and went on to have four amazing children.  They continued to travel whenever possible and enjoyed many exotic destinations.

 

Ray loved to be active in the community and was a founding member of the Logan Lake Cavalcade of Stars.  He was forever helping others whenever he saw a need.  Ray will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  The community of Logan Lake will be hosting a “Ray Taylor Fan Club Get-Together” on Friday, March 26th, 6:00 pm at the local High School.  Ray’s Funeral Service will be held in Kamloops, Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2165 Parkcrest Ave.  Memorial donations in Ray’s name may be made to either the BC Cancer Society (Foundation), Suite 600 - 686 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 1G1 or to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, 72 Whiteshield Cres. S. Kamloops BC V2E 2S9.
