John “Mike” Shea of Kamloops, BC passed away in Royal Inland Hospital on June 27, 2010 at 73 years of age.
John is survived by his son Darrin (Nicole) Shea of Pitt Meadows, BC; his granddaughter Samantha; and his sister, Shirley Barron. He was predeceased by his wife Gerry.
John was born in Penticton, BC on August 26, 1936. His love of the sea led him to serve in the Royal Canadian Navy. After his discharge, he worked on the weather ships in the Pacific Ocean. Later he was a lighthouse keeper along British Columbia’s coastline.
He was a kind and generous man, with an outgoing personality and a willingness to help others, which resulted in a wide circle of friends throughout his life.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
By request no formal service will be held. A private family inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery at a later date.
